Social marketing competency assessment
To help you ensure your Academy training is put to best practical use, we offer delegates certified competency assessment* options at two levels.
Level one: Certificate in Social Marketing Studies
This assessment option comprises one of the following two elements, as appropriate:
- For those attending a single course, a completion certificate is provided at the conclusion of each course.
- For full curriculum (all five courses) attendees, a cross-curriculum knowledge exam is undertaken, with a graded curriculum completion certificate awarded.
Level two: Diploma in Social Marketing Practice
This assessment consists of the following elements:
- A half-day workshop dedicated to the delegate's personal development plan (PDP).
- Up to four hours remote support* to help the delegate deliver their PDP targets in the workplace.
- A graded competence assessment report, based on:
- evidence provided in the completed PDP;
- a case study provided by the delegate on their application of the Academy learnings in the workplace; and
- a 90 minute interview with the delegate.*

*Assessments are conducted by Trevor Boutall, the expert responsible for the creation of the new National Occupational Standards on social marketing. The remote support (email and phone) and interviews are also provided by Trevor and his team.
